"Jaimie and Andrew helped us to plan our colour scheme and theme for our wedding. As a couple they provided a truly personal service and nothing seemed like too much trouble for them. Our budget was a low key affair but thanks to Jaimie and Andrew's experience and services it looked anything but low budget on the day..."
"... I knew what I wanted for the wedding but Jaimie's creativity and ideas helped me achieve all that I wanted and more! Jaimie came up with a wonderful design for the invitations and the theme and colours were then able to be followed through to the wedding day...
... I would thoroughly recommend their company to anyone wanting a little (or a lot!) of help in organising and coordinating their big day. It really took the pressure of my husband and I and allowed us to get on with enjoying our big day!"
As a wedding planner, I offered my wedding planning services to help my best friend Emma to plan and then decorate for her wedding day. Emma married James in October 2009 and their theme was based on Emma's love of butterflies.
I was asked to be a bridesmaid, which was indeed an honour and Andrew and I enjoyed being a part of their special day.
It also made for a very busy weekend, decorating the venue, making balloon clusters, arranging the flowers in the table centrepieces and finishing the table plan and place cards.
I designed the stationery and set to with the task of making it all... cutting and sticking madness ensued! This is where the butterfly theme and colour scheme was decided upon.
Making the seating plan took a long time but attention to detail is a must and we were pleased with the finished piece [although the photo doesn't do it justice]
The invitations looked superb and I particularly like the ribbon detail used for tying the invites, with a rose mounted on the tag.
They chose an elegant colour scheme of gold, black and cream to coordinate all the elements of the wedding decorations...
... from the stationery to the balloon arrangements and flowers in the table centrepieces
To add colour Emma chose wedding flowers for her bridal bouquet to match the time of year, choosing beautiful autumnal colours of deep red and burnt orange
Emma and James were brave to plan an outdoor ceremony in October [in England!] but the British weather was kind and the sun came out just before the bride walked down the aisle
The Father-of-the-Bride is an ordained minister and officiated their wedding, while Emma's sister, Vici, sang to add a personal touch
The Bride and Groom sign the register... congratulations Mr and Mrs Cottam!
The bridesmaids wore dresses in a delicate mushroom colour and carried floral bouquets to match those of the bride
Both Emma and Mother-of-the-Bride looked beautiful
Emma's bridal gown was an elegant champagne colour with delicate embroidery and crystals
We chose modern but delicate cream gerberas as the flowers for the table centrepieces with steel grass to give height to the floral arrangement
Black water-absorbent crystals in the vases matched the centres of the gerbera and tied in with the colour scheme
Ferrero Roche made perfect favours to complement the colour scheme
Emma bought some lovely gold decorations for the wine glasses to incorporate the butterfly theme into the table decorations
We chose to use decorated shot glasses with floating candles as an elegant alternative for displaying place cards.
When they were lit later on in the night it provided a nice atmosphere and ambient lighting
Emma wanted to be true to her Welsh roots so welsh cakes were placed on the tables as favours. There was a message for guests saying...
"Thank you for your company on our special day"
The message was written in Welsh on one side with the English translation on the reverse
The butterfly theme continued through to the pretty chocolate cupcakes
Emma and James love chocolate and couldn't choose between white and milk chocolate so...
... they had both! Yummy
We placed balloon arrangements around the dance floor for the evening celebrations to add a fun party feel
The Bride and Groom started off the evening entertainment with their first dance. James being 6ft 5in tall faced the challenge of not standing on a petite 5ft 4in Emma's feet!
Mr and Mrs Cottam... To have and to hold from this day forward! x
